Storm Chasing Preps

Puffy SkiesI’m getting ready for my first season of storm chasing and wanted to document what materials I’ve read or what events I’ve attended.

I’m not after a tornado. Don’t get me wrong, it’d be pretty exciting. But, I’m more interested in the general beauty and sometimes staggering power of the skies.

Minnesota RollerGirls

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

We swam against the current of 15,000 Justin Timberlake fans streaming into Xcel Energy Center to get to The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium. There we were to witness a whole different kind of pop — bone-crunching hits delivered by women you’d be sure to take to prom for fear of what they might do to you otherwise.

Full HouseYou may have already witnessed what I’m talking about on TV. Does RollerJam sound familiar? But even that isn’t an accurate depiction of what real roller derby is like.

The Minnesota RollerGirls are authentic and gritty. They’re black and blue knock-your-socks-off aggressive in their black and blue-striped tube socks. They are hell incarnate on four wheels.

2007 Resolutions

Monday, January 1st, 2007

My sixth grade teacher once gave my class an assignment to peer into the future and predict what we’d be doing in 2010. I think professional baseball player was at the top of my list.

It’s hard to believe I’m another year closer to that landmark date and I find myself a prospect in an entirely different field: web design. For the new year (like countless others I’m sure) I decided to freshen up the place (this here web site).
